My Approach
Integrative Somatic Parts Work (ISPW) is a body-based sensory integration method derived from Internal Family Systems (IFS) Therapy.
IFS understands our inner world as a multi-part system made up of various sub-personalities or “parts”. In an attempt to protect us from pain, our parts may conflict with each other and act in unhelpful ways. Integrative Somatic Parts Work Integration helps us to work with these parts by focusing on the bodily responses that accompany them. Although this healing modality includes verbal mapping and dialogue, it strongly emphasizes a body-centered approach when processing. Orienting sensations, nervous system regulation, and using movement to release accumulated tension are foundational. Working directly with these bodily sensations can result in greater internal harmony and cohesion.
Internal Family Systems Therapy
an evidence-based model of psychotherapy developed by Dr. Richard Schwartz that views the mind as a system of distinct "parts" (subpersonalities) guided by a core, compassionate "Self". It is a talk-based therapy focused on understanding and harmonizing one’s parts rather than pathologizing them.
Integrative Somatic Parts Work
a therapeutic approach that heals emotional trauma by mapping inner "parts" (sub-personalities like the inner critic or wounded child) and their corresponding physical sensations. A practitioner will use body-centered techniques like breathwork and mindful movement to release trapped emotions for more immediate relief.
Through somatic integration, I offer an interactive, therapeutic and educational atmosphere.
I arrive with compassion, care and unwaivering respect for every part of you that emerges.
